Show Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Hjorth ac- companied their parents Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth to Salt Lake City Monday where' they all went through the temple. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth left Wednesday, October Octo-ber 27, for the Texas-Louisiana mission. Mr. and Mrs. Reid M. Hales and son Merrill left Wednesday in their car for Seattle, Wash., where they plan to visit their son Blaine who is stationed there in the army. While in Wash., they will also visit at the home of a sister of Mrs. Hales, and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Larsen who live in Bothell. They will be gone a week. Miss Evon Hurst . spent the weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. She went especialy to attend the farewell testimonial of Monte Morris Mor-ris which was held Sunday evening even-ing prior to his leaving for a mission mis-sion to the Texas-Louisiana mission. mis-sion. He will leave October 27. The Mapleton First ward MIA entertained their members at a Halloween social Tuesday evening with Howard Stevens and Lillian Binks in charge. A splendid program pro-gram was presented and games were played under the direction of Catherine Ann Jensen, Ada Bingham, Bing-ham, Ida Diamond and Bob Hurst. Binks Phone 0109-R4 Dr.-and Mrs. Eugene Robertson and children of Detroit, Mich., are spending two weeks visiting at the home of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Freeman C. Bird of Mapleton and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Robertson of Springville. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth was the scene of a family dinner Saturday night honoring his parents Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth prior to their departure for the mission field. . Don Harmer is home after completing com-pleting four years in the airforce. He was honorably released from the service early in October from Shaw Field in South Carolina. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harmer and is now registered at the BYTJ where he will continue his studies. Mr. and Mrs. 'Parley Perry enjoyed en-joyed the company of their daughter daugh-ter and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Arch Rudolph of Burley, Idaho, over the weekend. They were en-route en-route home after spending three weeks visiting at the home of a daughter Berneice who lives in Holleydale, Calif. , Mr. and Mrs. Leo Warren of Po-catella, Po-catella, Ida., spent several days last week visiting with relatives and friends. While here they were guests at the home of Horace Perry and at the home of .Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hansen. A 2c Wm. Bernell Binks is home after an honorable release from the airforce. He has completed practically four years in the service, ser-vice, two years of which were spent in New Hampshire, one year in Korea and the last year in Hamilton Ham-ilton airforce base in Calif. Bernell is the son of Mrs. Hannah Binks who accompanied him home from California. He plans on continuing his studies. The Mapleton church was the scene of a delightful Halloween party Monday night for the Mapleton Maple-ton Second ward. Norman Kitchen and Marie Stone were in charge. A fine program was presented with Allen Strausburg conducting which was followed by games and refreshments re-freshments with Catherine Ann Jensen conducting the games. . Mrs. Hugh Heath entertained the members of the Birthday club at her home Saturday night. Wm. Whiting was the honored guest his birthday occuring during the week. A delicious roast duck dinner din-ner was served early in the evening even-ing and the remainder of the time was spent in social chat. Mrs. Lee Clements and children of Ogden spent the weekend at the home of her sister and her husband hus-band Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth, while her husband was on a deer hunt.
