Show All Out Vote Urged Tuesday; Polling Places Announced With a goodly number of Springville candidates running for office on both the Republican and the Democratic tickets this year, interest is mounting in $this community as the election date, Tuesday, November 2, draws near. The polls in the eight Springville Spring-ville districts and the Mapleton district dis-trict will be open from 7 a.m., until un-til 8 p.m. Places of voting will be as follows: District No. 1, at the home of Mrs. Frank Brown, 120 Brookside; Dist. 2, at the home of Mrs. La-Celle La-Celle Sumsion, 124 South Second West; Dist. 3, at the home of Mrs. Retta Harmer, .190 West First South; Dist. 4, at the home of Mrs. Jack Perham. 271 East Third North; Dist. 5, at the home of Mrs. Elden Palfreyman, 309 East Center; Cen-ter; Dist. 6, at the home of Mrs. W. E. Johnson, 686 East Center St.; Dist. 7, at the home of Alma Fullmer, 269 East 4th South; Dist. 8, at the home of Mrs. Harlan Boyer, 707 South 4th East. Mapleton Maple-ton district, at the City Hall. To vote, one must have his name on the current election register. This is accomplished by having voted in the 1952 election or by having registered. A voter must have lived one year in the state, four months in the county and 60 days in the precinct, to be eligible to vote. ' If you are now living in a different dif-ferent district than the one in which you voted last year, a transfer trans-fer to the district in which you now live will be necessary, it is stated. This must be done prior to election elec-tion day. Citizens in Springville are being asked to help maintain Utah's record of voting for this election. In 1952, Utah had the highest percentage per-centage of voters, according to population, of any state in the nation. na-tion. Before the election day, candidates candi-dates on both tickets will have made an effort to explain to the people that for which they stand and an explanation or the pros and cons of the hotly-debated issues which will appear on the ballot, has also been made available to everyone who desires to read them. It will be up to the individual to cast his ballot for whom and for what he favors. On election day, there will be baby sitting services offered, prize3 for "I Have Voted" tags; special reminders to those who may forget for-get and many other novel ideas worked out to encourage a vote by every eligible voter. There will bo few excuses acceptable in the drive to have every voter in Springvillo and Mapleton VOTE NEXT TUESDAY. |
