Show 'Can Utah Defend Its Voting Record Again? Utah will have a national championship cham-pionship to defend this fall when voters go to the polls. For three straight general elections elec-tions 1948, 1950 and 1952 a greater percentage of eligible voters vot-ers have cast ballots in Utah than in any other state. In 1948, of the 370,000 estimated estimat-ed tftahns eligible to vote, 75 per cent of them went to the polls. In 1950, an off-year election, 68 per cent of the estimated 390,000 eligible elig-ible voters casX ballots. Utah again topped the nation in 1952 when 79.6 of the estimated 414,000 eligible voters turned out. In 1954, estimates are there will be 425,000 eligible voters. The question is, can Utah defend its voting leadership for the fourth straight year ? . |
