Show Current Exhibit Most Unique; Another Planned A fitting climax to the special art exhibits which have been held the past few months at the Art building, is the current one depicting depict-ing several types of art and the mediums employed in producing each particular kind, shown by Brigham Young University art instructors. in-structors. It is different than anything any-thing ever seen at the gallery. The exhibit, arranged under direction di-rection of Richard Gunn of the BYU, opened Sunday with a large group of art lovers on hand to greet the artists. The show will continue until the latter part of February. The gallery will be open on regular school days from 9 until 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 until 5 o'clock. A special invitation is being given by the Hafen-Dallin Art club to everyone interested in any phase of art work to see the present pres-ent exhibit. It will prove especially espec-ially educational to teachers of art and to art students and will be of special interest to anyone who has any creative art instinct. The exhibit is self-explanatory and one should go prepared to spend considerable time reading the explanatory notes and, following fol-lowing the intricate processes involved in-volved in production of the var- ious types of art work. The exhibiting ' artists, Roman Andi-us, Wylie Swapp, Maynard D. Stewart, Edgar M .Jensen and Richard' Gunn have each contributed-something very much worthwhile worth-while to Springville in arranging the exhibit. It bespeaks much time and effort spent by each artist. At the close of the current show another exhibit will be given to show the work of amateur artists.' Students who have won the Johnson John-son scholarship in recognition: of their art ability; those who have received the Aureole award; members mem-bers of the Springville Art Guild and the Men's art class will be invited to enter their work. The sponsoring club Yiopes to keep the exhibit exclusive but will not exclude ex-clude anyone whose artistic efforts ef-forts have been recognized. |
