Show Few Ut. Merchants File OPS Charts Report Indicates Less than 500 of 2000 merchants in Utah have filed pricing charts with the Office of Price Stabilization, Stabiliza-tion, according to Delbert M. Draper, Dra-per, Utah director. Mr. DTaper said merchants are holding back because of reports circulated in trade magazines that say certain categories of goods and certain merchants are to be exempted from complying with Regulation 7. "These rumors to the contrary," he declared, "the deadline was Wednesday and merchants mer-chants who have not filed thpir pricing charts are now in violation of OPS regulations." The OPS official urged that merchants mer-chants get their charts in. "I have been impressed with the ability of the business men in the outlying areas of the state," he said, "and know they want to cooperate with our office." Mr. Draper was particularly par-ticularly impressed with business enterprises in Carbon and Emery counties and in the Uintah Basin area. Lower Auto Prices Mr. Draper announced that retail re-tail ceiling prices on passenger cars must be reduced to compensate compen-sate for elimination of spare tires and tubes by the National Production Pro-duction Authority. An amendment to the automobile automo-bile regulation provides that car dealers must reduce manufacturer's manufact-urer's suggested list price of Jan. 26, 1951, by an amount equal to the manufacturer's standard charge to them plus their markup on the eliminated equipment. |
