Nothing is quite so beautiful and stimulating as these annual programs. The eternal vigor and enthusiasm enthus-iasm of youth is so refreshnig in these dark days of doubt, apprehension, appre-hension, and uncertainty. These hundreds of 18-year-olds have grown up in a world fraught with the terrors of war, economic instability in-stability and social unrest. For the most part, they have remained emotionally stable, with a wholesome outlook on life and an abiding faith in the ultimate destiny des-tiny of their homeland. During their 12 years of formal school training they have received good instruction. Always have been held before them the ideals of American democracy and the precepts pre-cepts of the Christian religion. Through the helpful guidance of their teachers they have been taught to discriminate between the worldly gains of deceit and dishonesty dis-honesty and the more lasting worth-while benefits that follow |
