At the same neriod of time, there were 160 Un-employment Un-employment Insurance claims filed. Of the 626 people looking for " work through the Provo Employment Employ-ment Security office, 57 were tin's tin-'s der 13 years of age and 330 were women. Out of this number, there were also . about 100 who were only interested in part-time employment, em-ployment, evenings, or Saturdays. On the brighter side, stated Arthur Ar-thur D. Coleman, manager, is the fact that school terms are just completed and several thousand students will become available for work with in the next week or so. Local farmers are depending on the student labor for their help in the thinning of sugar beets which is now progressing and the picking of strawberries which should start about June 1. Various military bases near Tooele Too-ele and Ogden are also recruiting workers from the school graduates. |
