John H. Zenger announced ;'aturday that the hospital will mid open house for the public ;,unday, June 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. ''uided tours will be conducted hrough the hsopital. Demonstrations Demonstra-tions in various departments and .vhibits of equipment will help 0 acquaint the public with the renders of the modern new institution. insti-tution. 1 The hospital has just been enlarged en-larged through a $575,000 project. Much new equipment has been dded Parts of the old wing have ,een remodeled and modernized. 1 Among the places of particular interest to the visitors will be the spacious new waiting rooms and offices, expanded X-ray department de-partment which now boasts $25,-000 $25,-000 worth of equipment, the enlarged en-larged surgical department, new nurseries, expanded maternity division, di-vision, new milk formula labora- tory, medical staff lbirary, and others. The hospital now has a bed capacity of 115 plus 45 bassinets. Formerly the institution had a capacity of 55 beds although it eventually got-up to 72 by using hallways, sun porches, and doubling doub-ling up in private rooms., Four members of the executive board President I. E. Brockbank, Clayton Jenkins, Walter Caine and J. W. Thornton working with Mr. Zenger comprise the openhouse committee. The Hospital Guild will assist. |
