Show Springville Man Loses Arm In Plant Accident Jesse Salisbury, who lost his right arm in an accident last Wed- ' nesaay, is recovering as well as - can be expected at the Utah Valley Val-ley hospital according to a report re-port from family members today. Mr. Salisbury, who was working work-ing as an oiler in the sintering plant at the Ironton No. 2 plant of the Geneva Steel Company, caught his arm in a conveyor belt which tore it off at the elbow. He was rushed to the hospital where a portion of the remaining arm was amputated between the shoulder and elbow. The sintering plant is where dust iron ore is "sintered" into chunks so it can be recharged and utilized in the blast furnace. The No. 2 plant is the south furnace fur-nace at Ironton. Mr. Salisbury, who is 66 years old, will be confined to the hospital hos-pital for another week or ten days, it was reported. |
