Out of eight pntrics from Springville to the meech contest at Payson Tuesday the school wasn't awarded a state Tne students should be commended com-mended for the. hard work "and ' preparation they put into their ' numbers, even though none of them went to state. 5 The Advanced speech class took the play "Women in the Freight Car" The cast consisted of Camille Livingston, Charmen Long, Shirley ' Graves, Jane Diamond, and was directed by Grant Clyde. Other entries were Bemey Montague, Mon-tague, radio; Phillip Harrison, Howard Weight, Linda Weight and Darlene Huff, retold story; LaRae Phillips, humorous reading, and Bob Curtis, Pantomime. The Art Benefit show, "So Dear to My Heart," was given to the students Thursday morning. An admission ad-mission fee of 25c was charged and the profits will be put in the art fund. Friday proved an eventful day. Although there wasn't any school held the students were occupied most "of the morning raking and cleaning the streets. In spite of the blisters on our hands, we must admit that the city looks better. Friday evening the Pep Club sponsored a Girls' Day dance with the theme as "Kotton Kapers." There was quite a large crowd, and everyone there had an enjoyable enjoy-able time. |
