Show 1 Grant 6th Gives Centennial Play The first of a series of young people's programs was presented by students of the Sixth grade. David Prothero took the part of Barney Ward and Gary Tipton as Oliver B. Huntington. Bob Curtis in early pioneer costume as William Miller and Donald Parker representing James Mendenhall. Karen Ottesen, the wife of William Miller was a very interesting scene. The camp scene depicted early pioneer days with Richard Thorn as Aaron Johnson. Every student participated in dialogue, song and dance. The nine Indians were a scream. ' The Sixth grade class, wishes to thank Miss White for the arrangement arrange-ment and the writing of the script also Miss Cora Gardner for teaching teach-ing the square dances. Miss "Murphy and Miss White for teaching the songs, Mrs. Mildred Mild-red Barker who aided us in our costumes and turned nine white boys into Indians. Mr. Johnson for' our staging and lights, Mr. A. L. Erickson, our teacher and principal for his perseverance in directing our readers, dialogues and speeches. From this activity we have learned learn-ed a great deal about the history of Springville. We were sorry Jeanette Dougall could not be present as she was ill. Will see you next week.
