The Springville team, while heavily hea-vily favored over the small Tin-tic Tin-tic team, was upset on the Tintic floor last year and as a result lost its chance to gain entry in the state tournament. Friday results ... Pason won the first half lead as a result of a 36-25 win over the heretofore undefeated Devils on the Payson floor last Friday night. The game was a close battle bat-tle throughout three and a half quarteds with Springville leading most of the way. However, at this point, the picture suddenly changed with a half a dozen baskets bas-kets by the Lions and the Devils found themselves helplessly lost as the gun sounded. For Springville, it was entirely John Gustin, as far as the scoring was concerned, with his teammates failing to assist in the score column. Springville's first half defense looked particularly particu-larly good as did Gustin's offense but the last quarter seemed to lack much of either. Dixon for Payson and Provstgard and Spain-hower Spain-hower were the big thorns in the Red Devil's side, as they dunked in shot after shot. Springville's Sophs won over Payson in a thriller.
