Show Second, First Enter M Men Tourney At Spanish Fork Second Ward's M Men basketball team won the Kolob stake title here last Thursday night from the First ward, 52-38, and will represent this stake, to- gecner wun ine rust waiu, m mc Division 5 M Men tournament which opens next Wednesday, Feb. 15 in the Spanish Fork high school gym. The big event runs through Sat. February 18. Participating in the meet this year as stake winner for the second sec-ond consecutive year, the Second ward team won the Division 6 title last year and made a fine showing in the All-Church finale. This years club is expected to make an equally equal-ly fine record. Entered in the meet for the first time in the past five or six years, is the First ward, which goes in as runner-up. Both Kolob teams should prove strong title contenders. contend-ers. Kolob, Nebo and Palmyra Pal-myra stakes will each have two teams representing them. At the conclusion of tourney - play Sat., trophies will be presented to the winning team, consolation and runner-up. Two winning teams will qualify for All-Church meet in March. Stakes participating in the tourney at Spanish Fork include Carbon, Deseret, Emery, Juab, Kolob, Millard, Nebo, North Carbon, Car-bon, Palmyra, San Juan, San Luis, Santaquin-Tintic and Young. Season tickets for the M Men tourney can be purchased from Glenn Holley, stake MIA Superintendent; Superin-tendent; Verl Weight, stake Supervisor; Super-visor; or Russell Hales, stake M Men president. Game tickets will be sold at the door. |
