Show JE. A. Strongs Are Home From Islands Ernest A. Strong, president of Kolob stake, and Mrs. Strong returned re-turned home last Thursday from a most enjoyable month's vacation trip to the Hawaiian Islands. In company with a number of Scout officials, MIA officers and other officials, they made the trip to the islands by boat and returned by plane. Fifty people composed the party. Among the highlights of their trip, which was the. best they have taken, according to Mrs. Strong, was a visit to the LDS temple and attendance at the numerous num-erous banquets and other special entertainments arranged for the party. Before the passengers reached reach-ed the shore, a number of Scouts greeted them, placing leis about their necks and singing native songs and doing native dances in welcome to them. Mrs. Strong celebrated her birthday on the Islands Is-lands and this was a special occasion. oc-casion. They were guests at a banquet that evening and she was given a lei containing some 35 beautiful orchids. After the banquet, ban-quet, each guest placed their lei about her neck. This was but one of the many acts of hospitality and special entertainment which the party enjoyed during their stay on the islands. They took a plane tour of the islands and by motor car visited numerous points of interest. . |
