Show our companies at the old curfews bell where Mrs. Gwen Cutler told us about it. She told us that it was used for a fire bell. Springville used to be divided into four wards. If the fire was in the first ward it would ring once and then some short dings. The same with the other wards. ' Then our companies went two blocks North and 2 blocks West to the Camp site marker. Mrs. Cutler told us that the pioneers camped there and built the fort there. She said when they first got there tall wild hay was there. Then we went to see the big cottonwood tree in front of the Third ward church. Mrs. Cutler said it was about 150 years old. She said the pioneers would camp under it. Then we went to see a marker of the old white meeting house. She told us they had to tear it down it was so old.
