In small groups and in large numbers, they have represented the school in Salt Lake City, Spanish Fork and Payson and have been so well received re-ceived that invitations have been extended for their return next year. The orchestra and all three bands received the highest rating in the regional festival and the orchestra has been given statewide state-wide recognition for its excellence. Over 200 students are included ( Continued on Page Two) Band Mothers To Buy Instruments (Continued from Page One) in these groups, most of whom have been trained under the able baton of Mr. Hatch, who has the distinction distinc-tion of being treasurer of the Utah Music Educators Association and also vice-president and chairman of orchestras on the western division di-vision of the Music Educators National Na-tional Conference. This division includes in-cludes western United States and the Hawaiian Islands. There are only six such positions in the nation, na-tion, it is reported. In the future, when we hear these young musicians in concert or marching parades, let us realize - we are listening to performances unexcelled by any other high school musical organization in the state. |
