Show "Native Artist's Work Appears In Nationa Gallery The following1 news stories appeared recently in the Glen-dale Glen-dale News - Press, Glendale California, concerning one of Springville's native artists: Marie Clark Miller, Glendale artist, has three of her paintings hanging in the April show at the National Gallery in Washington, D. C, it was revealed today. Lucile Palmer Thompson and Betty Payne Welles, both officers of the National League of American Amer-ican Pen Women, Los Angeles branch, and delegates to the recent re-cent convention at Washington, revealed they had seen the paintings paint-ings in the gallery. They are "Portrait of Husband," "Easter Sermon" and "Cup of Gold." Mrs. Miller also has paintings hanging in the Springville, Utah National Exhibition. Interests Vary Appearing in a quadruple role as playwright, producer, director and "leading lady," Marie Clark Miller of Glendale presented her prize-winning play "Rummage," before the Schubert Club of Los Angeles yesterday. She was given a hearty reception. She was supported by a professional profes-sional cast which included Jimmie Miller in the leading male role. Joan and Brenda Peden, talented children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peden of Burbank, and Grace Ringle Shoop completed the cast. Ruth and Nathan Hale from the Glendale Centre Theater were the luncheon speakers and were interviewed inter-viewed by Mrs. Miller. |
