Show PTA School of Instruction Scheduled Here October 3 The third annual Parent-Teacher Association School of Instruction for all PTA workers in the Sprmgville-Mapleton area will be held Wednesday. Oct. o, at the high school beginning begin-ning at 7 :00 p.m., according to an- nouncement by Mrs. J. Joe Miller, council president. The purpose of the school is to acquaint PTA officers and chairmen chair-men of their specific duties, said Mrs. Miller, adding, that closer working harmony between school personnel and parents .will be an objective of the group. Presentation of achievement awards will be made during the opening exercises. These awards are for completion of certain requirements re-quirements outlind by National Congress of PTA to effect a well working unit. These were earned last school year. Superior achievement wards will go to the Lincoln, Jefferson, Mapleton and Grant PTA units. Special recognition certificates for meritorious work in certain fields will go to Springville Junior and Senior high school for outstanding work in parent-education; Brook-side, Brook-side, beautification; Westside, safety and health. Following preliminary exercises the group will separate for departmental depart-mental work under the direction of the council chairmen. Mrs. Miller will be in charge of the presidents' group. Other council officers assisting with the departmental sessions include Mrs. Steve Miller, program; C. Lynn Hanks, juvenile protection; Mrs. D. LaRell Johnson, publicity; Mr. and Mrs. Omar Hansen, parent-education; parent-education; Mrs. Grant Hall, legislation leg-islation and citizenship; Mrs. Lee Miner, membership; Mrs. Mart Bringhurst, historians; W. Max Alleman, safety-civil defense; Mrs. Howard Willis, health; Mrs. Bert Gill, room representative and hospitality; hos-pitality; Mrs. Ben Olsen, magazine; maga-zine; Mrs. Blaine Thorn, exceptional exception-al child chairman will assist Mrs. Miller in the program planning group. f - .
