Show J Clubmen Initiate Plans to Raise Foundation Funds Preliminary plans are announced this week for the 20-30 club's drive to raise $100 4n Springville for their contribution to the national rheumatic fever foundation. To do their part in this drive, the clubmen are selling pens to their friends and part of the money derived will go for the cost of the item and the other to meet their quota. Explaining what the funds are used for 20-30 clubmen state that "the struggle against rheumatic fever is waged on many fronts. At the moment, the 'hottest,' perhaps, is prevention, through control of streptococcal infection. But simultaneously, simul-taneously, scientific investigators are pressing forward in the search for the cause of the disease, the 'missing link' between strep infections infec-tions and Rheumatic fever. Others are seeking methods whereby it can be diagnosed more easily and treated more effectively than is now possible." |
