Show farewells Planned For Wayne Haws; Bii!ewman,Sunday Two more missionaries from this vicinity will join hundreds of others in the field shortly, both ?, ' st "f ' - I,-. I I Wayne Haws having entered the missionary home in Salt Lake City this week with plans for leaving for their mission headquarters in the very near future. To honor Wayne Haws, who is leaving from the First ward to fill a mission in the Central Atlantic States, a farewell program will be given in the First ward chapel Sunday evening, March 12 beginning begin-ning at 7 :30 p. m. to which all members of the ward and friends are invited. The program will open with in- f V. , 'I V ,- &. .A ... y' I i ''I Bill Newman vocation by Perry Tippetts, followed fol-lowed by the Sacrament song, "Jesus Died on Calvary." Remarks will be made by Leonard Johnson, Salt Lake City; a double trio will gve a selection with Louise Allen, soloist; remarks, Johnnie Stokes; vocal solo, Eileen Johnson, Salt Lake City; remarks, Mrs. Pauline H. Wilson, mother of the missionary; mission-ary; response, missionary; remarks, re-marks, Bishop R. W. Bradford. The closing song will be by the double trio and Bea Tippetts will give the benediction. On Sunday evening also a farewell fare-well testimonial in the Mapleton ward chapel at 7:30 p.m., will honor Bill Newman, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Newman, who is going to the Texas-Louisana Mission. Mis-sion. He has been at, the mission home this week. Ward members and friends are invited to attend his farewell. The program arranged for the occasion includes: Opening prayer, pray-er, Duane Binks, vocal solo, La-Vere La-Vere Tippetts; speaker, J. C. Newman New-man of Salt Lake City, uncle of the missionary; organ solo, Boyd Hall; remarks, Harold Gividen, Lily Binks, Bishop Oscar Whiting. There will be a response by the missionary and the closing prayer will be by Fred Tew. |
