Show Trout Stocked in Utah Streams For 4th of July Two-Fish planting trucks from the state's twelve hatcheries are on the move daily as legal sized trout are being stocked into Utah's heavily fished waters in preparation for the annual Fourth of July holiday period. Spokesmen for Utah's Department Depart-ment of Fish and Game said all waters normally stocked with "catchables" will be planted. These include nearly all mountain streams and most of the smaller on-the-road stillwaters. Department records show the greatest creel return of hatchery planted legals occurs in the first few days following the stocking of these fish. While legals are planted from the hatcheries throughout the season, sea-son, the heaviest planting periods are set to stock the hard fished waters prior to the general opening, open-ing, the July 4th, July 24th and the Labor Day holidays wnen most license buyers are afield. |
