Show Practice Safety When on Vaters . The recent tragic loss of six lives by drowning through a boating boat-ing accident at Scofield Reservoir should stand as another vivid reminder re-minder for the constant need to practice safety and good sense before be-fore going on any water with any kind of floating device. The following precautions and rules of safety were listed today by the department of fish and game as important to be observed before boating any stream, lake, or reservoir. Know your boat and the water you are going to use. Never overload over-load a boat, always allowing ample am-ple freeboard between the boat top and the water. Always provide a good life preserver pre-server for each person in the boat. Just as important, wear them or have them at hand if needed. They become of no value . when stored in the boat out of reach when needed. At the first sign of storm or rough water move close to shore, or better still, off the water entirely. |
