Contributions Total 519,293.63 From Utah County Utah County residents contributed contri-buted $19,293.63 to the American Red Cross during its 1956 fund campaign, according to Melvin (Moon) Kavachevich, Provo, chairman chair-man of the drive. Although this amount will enable en-able the Utah County to operate as in the past, said Mr. Kavachevich, Kavache-vich, it is not sufficient to cover the cost of additional services, such as the blood program, which would have been available locally fchad the original quota of $29,500 been reached. A breakdown by cities of the total amount collected follows: Provo, $4654.10; Spanish Fork, $1164.14; Lehi, $595.33; American Fork, $735.01; Pleasant Grove, $405.80; Lindon, $6.; Provo Canyon, Can-yon, $12.50; Orem, $905.71; Edge-mont, Edge-mont, $138.67; Springville, $432.68; Payson, $779.24; Santaquin, $109.13; Genola, $71.75; and Goshen, Go-shen, $62.10. The city totals do not include amounts contributed by industrial workers, which came to $7989.35 altogether. Special groups, including includ-ing school faculties, clubs, and hospital hos-pital staffs, donated $1227.12. Anyonewho has not yet had the opportunity to contribute to this organization may still do so, stated Mr. Kovachevich. Donations should be mailed to the Utah County , Chapter office of the ' American Red Cross, 287 East 1st North, Provo. Mr. Kavachevich and all city chairmen express their sincere gratitude to the Utah County citizens cit-izens who voluntarily gave their time to serve during the campaign. |
