Show 2 HELD FOR ROBBERY OF PR0V0H0ME One Arrested Here Confesses; Con-fesses; Accomplice Held At Fresno Provo police today had solved the mystery surrounding surround-ing the $900 robbery of Gar-rabed Gar-rabed K. (Charlie) Penirjian's home February 5, with the arrest of Edgar Bigler, 20, of 916 West First North, and Leonard Phil Guy, 18, of 170 North First East street. Bigler was arrested by Officer O. E. Pedersen at 1:30 this morning, morn-ing, and an hour and a half later signed a confession, naming himself him-self and Guy as partners in the robbery. Arrested in Fresno Guy was arrested in Fresno, California, this mornAg, and is being be-ing held in custody there, according accord-ing to word received from Lt. L. T. Bowen of the Fresno police department. de-partment. He was picked up after Provo police had wired Fresno, where G"uy had gone about two weeks ago. A complaint charging second degree burglary was drawn up this morning, and a warrant for the youth's extradition telegraphed tele-graphed to California. Held in County Jail Bigler is held without bail in the county jail, pending trial. The robbery occurred about 9:30 p. m. February 5, at which time Mr. Penirjian, local tailor j and cleaner,- and his wife, were away from home. Mr. Penirjian is proprietor of the National French Cleaning company at 95 North University, and has lived in Provo for many years. At the time of the robbery he reported to be missing the small trunk containing curency, clothing, mining stock, papers, deeds, abstracts, a watch chain, two rings and certificates. Enter Through Window According to Bigler's confession, Guy had been told Penirjian had considerable money. The two youths went to Penirjian's home on the night of the robbery, tried the doors, which were locked, then entered through a front window. "Phil said he had an idea where tile money was," Bigler told police po-lice officers, "so we took a trunk out the east door and over to the B. Y. U. campus. The penalty for second degree burglary is one to 20 years in the state penitentiary. |
