Show JOSEPH VANE SR. HAS BIRTHDAY Joseph H. Vane, Sr., well known retired farmer and former rail-1 road man of this city, will observe ob-serve his eighty sixth birthday on Thursday. While he V3 unable to enjoy a big celebration, his family will call during the day und Mrs. Vane who is eighty-three will makea lovely birthday cake for the occasion. Born in New York, March 9, 181)3, Mr. Vane came west as a young man. For a number of years he engaged in raWroad construction construc-tion work and was also employed at one time as roadmaster on the old Pleasant Valley road. Later he became interested in mining and operated successful mining enterprises in Colorado. After mining for some years he took up farming and was known at the time of his retirement retire-ment as one of the most successful success-ful farmers in the vicinity. He married Sina Clark, June 23, 1881, and the couple are looking look-ing forward to their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary this spring. The couple has three children, Joseph Vane of Salt Lake City, Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall and Howard How-ard Vane of Springville; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. |
