Show Springville Boy Scouts I Join With Nation In OKrvance Week ! Scouts of the Springville-Maplr-ton district began observance of National Scout week Saturday, with a general mobilization io ' listen to instructions and advice to j scouts given by President Roosc- ! veil over the radio. ! On Sunday night, scout courts of honor were hold in the Mapleton, Maple-ton, First and Second wards with awards made as follows: First ward troop Edmond Roundy, Leo Felix, eagle palms; Robert Weight, first class; Dwain Golding. Glenn Poynter, Fail Child, Thales Brown. Alonzo Billings, Bill-ings, second class; Edmond Roundy, Frank Witney. Glenn I.iw, Thales Brown, Keith Kennedy, Ken-nedy, Leo Felix, merit badges; LaVerc Clegg, Mead Weight, tenderfoot ten-derfoot badges. Second ward Keith Harrison. Lamar Boyer, Carlos Hjorth. Rulon Fox, Mark Strong, Karl Leighty, Ruel Crandall. Gwenlon vy, Lamar and Clyde Miner, Lcn Dearing, merit badges. Mapleton ward Lawrence, Robert Rob-ert and Norman Bird and Max Hall, merit badges. The members of the various troops wero in charge of the well arranged programs, given in most of the wards Tuesday night, in honor of their parents and as a part of the national scout observance observ-ance week. A special feature of the week also is the exhibit of numerous pieces of scout Handiwork and equipment, arranged by the Second Sec-ond and Fourth ward troops, in two of the local store windows during dur-ing this week. In conclusion to the week's program, pro-gram, special courts of honor will ' be held for the Third and Fourth ward troops at their respective ward chapels on Sunday evening, i. |
