Show Society In honor of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thorpe who wcrt recently married, mar-ried, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Thorpe entertained at a party at their home, Thursday night. Mrs. Susa Barnett of American Fork was in Springville Thursday Thurs-day to attend funeral services for Anders Andersen. Mr. and Mrs. Ar'vil Sumsion and children of Salt Lake City, visited friends and relatives here the past week. They came especially espec-ially to attend funeral services for their grandmother, Mrs. Fannie Oakley. The S. T. Club members have postponed their regular meeting scheduled for the coming Thursday Thurs-day evening to July 11, at the home of Mrs. Harry Pennington. Walter Galaway of Chicago is visiting his sister, Mrs. Victor Nielson and family, in this city. Mr. and Mrs. JX. Gardner and son, plan to leave this week to spend the summer at Pine Valley, in southern Utah. Mrs. Carl Anderson has "gone to Mt. Pleasant to spend several weeks with her parents and other relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thorpe recently returned from a wedding trip to the northwest and California. Cali-fornia. They plan to make their home in Springville. Mr .and Mrs. Angus Boyer and son and Mrs. Joseph Anderson of Salt Lake City, were dinner guests Thursday of their mother, Mrs. C. A. Boyer in this city. Mrs. Stanley Staten of Salt Lake City visited friends and relatives here Wednesday and also attended funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Oakley. Mrs. Hattie Dougall and her son-in-law, Joseph Robison of Lehi, left Friday on a two weeks' awarded to Milan R. Straw and Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler. trip to Chicago, Detroit and other eastern cities. Members of the Black Hawk commitete and their partners and a number of invited friends entertained enter-tained at an outing at Balsam park in Hobble Creek canyon, Friday Fri-day afternoon and evening. Ball games, horseshoe pitching and other competitive snorts were enjoyed en-joyed together with a picnic lunch. Mrs. H. The Kiwanis club entertained at their annual ladies night outing at Balsam park, Thursday night. A. G .Thorn, John Fletcher, Floyd Miner and their partners were in charge of the luncheon, which was served cafeteria style. Baseball and other competitive games proceeded pro-ceeded the lunch. Later in the evening, around a large bonfire a program given with Miss Margaret Mar-garet Bird giving readings; Owen Rowland, accordion selections and Glenn Hooley and Freeman Bird vocal and instrumental music.
