Show Officers Trail Suspect Thought To Be Mahan Telephone Call Gives Description Descrip-tion of Suspect Wanted For Kidnaping. BOISE, July 2 (U.R) Department Depart-ment of Justice agents were placed on the trail of a man answering the description of William Mahan, fugitive Weyerhaeuser Weyer-haeuser kidnap suspect, after a mysterious phone call, was received re-ceived in Boise today. The call came from an isolated Idaho mountain station, officers said. The name of the man who called was not ascertained. Officers Offic-ers said the phoner was an "officer "offic-er of some sort." Local officers advised the informant in-formant to contact Russ Bryan Department of Justice agent. Bryan was in Butte 'but was believed be-lieved to have left for an unknown un-known Idaho point late today. Officers here said the suspect was described over the phone and that Mahan's description fitted him. Officers also said that there would be no further developments in the report until tomorrow and that it was "very probable," that things, would "break" at that time. Little could be learned of the origin of the call, officers said. All that was known was that the call did not "come from northern Idaho" nor did it come from southern Idaho. |
