Show SOCIETY NEVS Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Overlade and daughters Phylis and Naoma, of Helper .spent Sunday as guests of Mrs. Agnes McKee. The latter daughter will spend the week here. Miss Berthena Childs, teacher in the Salt take City schools, and Miss Myrtle Childs are attending summer school at the Brigham Young university. The local Legion and auxiliary were represented at the district convention, Saturday at American Ameri-can Fork, by Edwin Johnson, William Phillips, Victor Nielson, Marcellus Nielson, H. T. Reynolds, Reyn-olds, Mrs. Florence Phillips, Mrs. Harriet Nielson, arid Mrs. Emma Gardner. Miss Ellen Wheeler, Miss Helen Hel-en Alleman of this city and Miss Bertha Bearnson, of Spanish Fork are attending summer school at Seattle, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. George Spratling of Helper were guests the past week end of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Baker. Miss Anna Beardall, teacher at the Mos6ni high school,' will leave July 10, to attend summer school at the Colorado state college at Fort Collins. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bolinder of Salt Lake City, are spending the week with relatives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Felix and daughters, Ileen, Zella1 and Iola, left this week on a vacation trip to the west coast. They plan to visit places of interest in California, Cali-fornia, Washington and Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harding and daughter of Berkley, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Arch Bird of this city, spent the week end as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allen West of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. J. X. Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Wood spent Sunday at Centnrville, the guests of Miss Kate Chase. One of the largest and most successful parties of the season was held at Memorial hall Friday Fri-day night, when the Legion auxiliary aux-iliary entertained the Legion and their partners and Auxiliary partners, part-ners, at a banquet and card party. The. long tables were decorated in ping and white roses and flowers favors in these two colors, also were employed. Members and guests in attendance numbered over a hundred. Dr. Nelson Beal won high score prize, Milton Harrison Harri-son won high score favor in 500, and Mrs. Lionel Miller for "Monte - Carlo Whist". ; Officers of the Legion, for the i coming year, will be elected at the r July meeting next Wednesday at Memorial hu!, President Floss Phillips announces. All members are urged to be present. Mrs. M. W. Bird has returned from a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Huish and family, at Oakland, Calif. Mrs. Sarah Loynd, Miss Elizabeth Eliza-beth Loynd and Mrs. Gladys Harris were guests Sunday, of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Brown, at Cop-perton. Cop-perton. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Conover and Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Bird plan to leave toGay on a trip to Yellowstone National park. Bert Brown accompanied by Fred Roylancef Clyde Wheeler and Hardy Childs left early Wednesday Wed-nesday on a weeks trip to Yellowstone Yellow-stone park. Mr: and Mrs. Raymond Parker and son of Tacoma, Wash., formerly form-erly of this city .arrived here Monday on a two weeks vacation. Fern Hutchings visited relatives rela-tives in Ogden, Utah and Evans-ton, Evans-ton, Wyo., the past six weeks, returning re-turning last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Thurmun Hutchings Hutch-ings in company with Mr. and Mrs. C. R. McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. James Bohn, Earl Jones, spent the week end at Strawberry Strawber-ry Lake fishing, catching many fine fish. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. McDonald of Evanston, Wyo., spent a few davs with relatives and friends of this city. , . Dr. and Mrs. L. E. Otteson of this city will attend the Pacific Coast Dental conference, -at Long Beach, Calif., from July 4 to July 15. Mrs. H. M. Dougall has returned to her home here, after several weeks visit with her daughter, Mrs. Catherine Wills and family at Los Angeles, Calif. W. Jesse Groesbeck of this city, left Monday on a several weeks business trip to California. Califor-nia. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Best entertained enter-tained a number of relatives at a social at their home Friday night, in honor of Miss Carrie Best who is visiting here from Salt Lawe City. Rapheal Palfreyman, Grant Packard, Charles Straw and Glenn Hanson left the past week on a vacation trip to California. They plan to visit the exposition at San Diego before returning.
