Mr, and Mrs. Ira Taylor and family of this city attended a celebration cele-bration in Lehi last Wednesday, given, in honor of Mr. Taylor's mother, Mrs. Martha Ann Fox Taylor who was '92 years old. The Fourth ward 4-H club girls under the leadership of Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Wheeler and Mrs. Oiler-ton enjoyed an outing in Hobble Cheek canyon this week. Complimentary to Roe Clark who left Wednesday to enroll in the U. S. Navy, a farewell social was held Monday night, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark. About 35 friends with members mem-bers of the immediate family were in attendance. Games and a delicious de-licious lunch were enjoyed by all. Assisting Mrs. Clark in serving were her daughters Mrs. Leon a Bird of Salt Lake, Mrs. Bird Brown and Mrs. Louise Farley. The "Ivecout" 4-H S.ewing club are progressing rapidly with their summer work projects. On Saturday Sat-urday evening they enjoyed a social so-cial at the home of Miss Erma Harmer, the time being spent with a program, games 'and lunch. t 1 Mrs. Leona Bird of Salt Lake Mary Whiting, Gene Ullock, and lone Averett returned Tuesday from a week's vacation at Wild-wood Wild-wood in Provo canyon. They were chaperoned by Mrs. LaVe Bertcl-sen, Bertcl-sen, Miss Margaret Davies and Miss Virginia Rivers. Mrs. J. M. Brown entertained at a nicely arranged birthday party Tuesday afternoon, at her home in honor of Tier little granddaughter grand-daughter Doloes Stanton who was five years old. The little guests were served a dainty lunch from one long table, centered with roses. Pink paper caps were given to all as favors. Games were also enjoyed en-joyed with the following present: Beverly and Lillian Sanford, Marilyn Mari-lyn Knight, Elaine Robison, Mclba Witney, Evan and Dale Lake, Mrs. Ruby Lake and Mrs. Melba Perry of Provo. The latter two also assisted Mrs. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Haymond of this city left Thursday for a vacation vaca-tion to the world's fair at Chicago Chi-cago and will also visit other places of interest in the east. An enjoyable program featured the auxiliary meeting Wednesday night with a cello solo by Miss Cleon Fox accompanied by her sister Annie; vocal selections including in-cluding the convention contest songs by the auxiliary quartet composed of Mrs. Lcla Packard, Mrs. Ellen Anderson, Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Phillips and Mrs. Hilda Grant; readings. Miss Marjorie Clark. The meeting was In charge of President Cleonda Miner and officers for the coming year were elected in addition to the selection also of delegates and alternates to the state convention. Parker and daughters Ruth and Wilma of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Parker of Helper, Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler, Mrs. Emma Cranmer, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cranmer, Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey Parker and the honor guests. Mrs. Afton Palfrey man entertained enter-tained at an enjoyable birthday party Wednesday afternoon for her daughter Phyllis, who is six years old. Games and a tasty lunch were enjoyed by about 12 little guests. Complimentary to Mrs. Hazel Latimer of the literary department of the Thud ward Relief society, a social was given by the organization, organiza-tion, under direction of Mrs. Wayne Johnson Tuesday after-I after-I noon. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Baker of this city entertained at their home Saturday Sat-urday evening for members of the Saturday Night Bridge club: Mr. and Mrs. Lyne Roberts, guests, I won the high score favor. West-wood West-wood of Oreville, Calif. were guests Tuesday of Mrs. J. M. Westwood in this city. Mr. West-wood West-wood was a nephew of J. M. West-wood West-wood and it is the couple's first visit to Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clyde left early this week for a vacation trip to the world's fair at Chicago. While there they will visit Mrs. Clyde's sister Florence and husband hus-band and Mr. Clyde's brother Grover and family.
