Show Mrs. Sarah Simpler Observes 83 Yearj ' ! MAPLETON Mrs. Sarah Simp- ! ler one of the oldest and highly respected citizens of -this community, com-munity, celebrated her eighty-third birthday last Monday with a. surprise sur-prise party given in her honor by a number of neighbors and friends, i Lunch and a general social were J enjoyed with the fololwing guests I present, Mrs. John S. Boyer, Mrs. ; Hannah Mendenhall, Miss Mary Boyer, Mrs. Mary R. Reed, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mcnedenhall, Grant Peasymcr and Mrs. Charles Bird. Mrs. Simpler was born in Ore-villc, Ore-villc, Kentucky. She came to Utah with her husband John S. Simpler, in 1S9. They were converts con-verts to the L. D. S. church and their home in Kentucky had always al-ways been open to L. D. S. missionaries mis-sionaries In that section. The couple lived in Springville until 1925 when they moved to Mapleton. Mr. Simpler died in 1932. They have no living children. |
