Show Rattlesnake Chorus Going On Big Tour By I. KENT WRIGHT Special Correspondent STONY FORD. Ariz.. Feb. 3 Stony Ford's famous rattlesnake rat-tlesnake chorus left today for a tour of the east, where tt will play concerts. The chorus was formed about a year ago. when Old Pete Henessey collected a rlock of rattlers out on the desert and by grading them carefully, produced a sort of xylophone effect. . ; To play the rattler-xylophone, Pete lays the snakes in a long row, heads all facing fac-ing one way, and then makes music by making each snake rattle in its proper sequence. Kach snake has a separate noto. The chorus was almost held- up at the last minute when the G-flat snake bit Pete's arm and died in alcoholic alco-holic convulsions five minutes later. |
