Show Fair For One: Fair For the Other Just suppose a government official toured the country tolling workmen to "cut production; make fewer goods; don't do so much work, so that prices can go up ami you can get more money." Oh, boy ! What a racket there would be ! How all the viewers-with-alarm would rave! Why, any man who advocated that sort of thing would land in jail as a dangerous bolshevist in about two minutes. Yet that is exactly what the members of Mr. Hoover's farm board are telling the farmers. If it is right for a farmer to arbitrarily curtail production produc-tion in order to make a mechanic pay more for bread, it's fair for the mechanic to loaf on the job so that the farmer's plow will cost more. If it isn't, why isn't it? |
