Show I SOCIETY I A delightful evening was spent Saturday when members of the N. I. P. club were entertained by Miss Ethel Taylor. Progressive "500" furnished fur-nished entertainment for the party at the conclusion of which a two-course two-course luncheon was served to the following ladies present: Miss Hilda Clegg, Miss Lois Blanchard, Miss Merle Blackett, Mrs. Louise Brown of Provo, Miss Mabel ! Averett, Mrs. Thelma Harmer. Mrs. Lucille Packard. Miss Luell Straw and Mrs. Clara Childs. Mrs. Jessee Dalton gave an especially es-pecially interesting paper on art appreciation at the meeting of the Ladies Literary club held Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Cornell Mendenhall was hostess. Other numbers on the program were: vocal solos, Mrs. Meilba C. Osmond, and piano solo by Miss Melba Boyle of Provo. A delicious luncheon was served during dur-ing the afternoon to the following guests: Miss Arlene Mendenhall. Mrs. Eugene Oakes. Mrs. Osmond. Miss Boyle and members: Mrs. Glenn Sumsion, Mrs. Frank Salisbury, Salis-bury, Mrs.' Jessee Dalton, Mrs. La-Cell La-Cell Sumsion. Mrs. Evan Jncobsen, Mrs George Straw, Mrs. L. E. Faux, Mrs. Will Grooms, Mrs. C. G. Salisbury. Salis-bury. Mrs. E. W. Brown was hostess at a nicely arranged family dinner din-ner at her home Sunday evening. Covers were laid for the following from gut-of-town, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Brown and two daughters, Ramona and Beverly, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown and daughter Annetta, and Mr. and Mrs. Wandel Open-, shaw and son Mack. - , The ladies of the Home Culture club will- hold their next meeting in the high school. The program will be on art appreciation. Wayne Johnson is scheduled to give the principal address. Mrs. Harold Christensen will be hostess. Arrangements for the annual Mother's day program are being made by committees of the Mother's Moth-er's Study club. The entertainment will be held at the home of Mrs. Reed TBird. Mrs. A. V. Sanford had as dinner guests Sunday her daughter Mrs. Jessee Wickman and friend from Salt Lake City. A pleasant evening was spent Friday Fri-day when Mrs. A. L. Thorpe entertained enter-tained a number of young folks at her home in compliment to her daughter Leola who.se tenth birthday birth-day occurred that day. Various games furnished entertainment, as did also a program of radio music. Early spring flowers were used as room decorations. A tasty luncheon was served by the hoMess to the following little friends: Mary Huntington, Hunt-ington, Margaret Madsen, Mildred j Cates, Lucille Jensen, Donctta Full-! mer. Mr. and Mrs. George Averett announce an-nounce the marriage of their son Elmo to Miss Marva Hiett of Pay- j son. The ceremony is to be performed perform-ed today in the Salt Lake temple. Mr. and Mrs. Averett will make their home in this city. |
