Show Pony League tourney opens today at Memorial Park ball diamond chain link home run fence has been installed at the Pony League diamond, reports officers off-icers of the organization, which will be a much needed addition to the diamond. Committees and officials are working hard to make this a successful event and seek the support of townfolk to see the tournament and at the same time assist in helping help-ing of the financing of the new project. Officials: Keith Weight, um-pire-inchief ; Verl Child, Jim Ratos, grounds; Don Parry, housing; Wave Miguel, Jack Windley, concessions; Floyd Graves is president of the Springville Pony League. Springville will play host to the Pony League Tournament teams as the meet opens here July 25 (today) and continues Friday and Saturday at Memorial Mem-orial ball park. Competing in the tournament tourna-ment will be Provo, Helper, Roosevelt and Springville. The meet is a double elimination event. Opening the tourney tonight at 6 p.m. will be Roosevelt meeting Heber. At 8 p.m. Springville will tangle witn Provo. Friday games will begin at 3, 5, and 8 p.m. and Saturday's contest will be at 6 p.m. If another game is necessary, it will begin at 9 p.m. A new permanent type |
