Show Police send 'salesmen' on their way J. B. Sumsion, 300 West 200 North might have been "took'' but through his efforts, it was possible for Springvi le officers to catch up with four people last week who really needed to be taken by the police. po-lice. Mr. Sumsion was approached by a comely pair who told the age-old story of students selling sell-ing magazines to earn points. Paying them ?4 for a well known publication, he received in return a receipt on very official looking paper. However when Mrs. Sumsion informed her husband that she thought he "had been took", he decided to investigate. A check on the three women and one man indicated the deal they representd was a fraud. A complaint was signed, they were apprehended and taken to the jusitce of the peace who gave them five minutes to leave town, the same amount of time they had been given a few days earlier to leave Pay-son, Pay-son, it was learned. Mr. Sumsion1 got his $4 back and has decided next time that he will heed a warning made by oficers, to always ask the peddler or- solicitor, if he has a permit from the city and to check thoroughly before handing hand-ing over any money. |
