Show Club hears of early theaters Mrs. William L. Schreiner gave an interesting review of the book, "Pioneer Theatre," by Ila Fisher Maughan, at the meeting of the Ladies Literary Club, Thursday evening of last week. Mrs. W. H. Brown was hostess. Supplementing the story, Mrs. Schreiner showed a number num-ber of beautiful prints of the Salt Lake Theatre and the pioneer crowds which attended these early entertainments. In charge of the meeting was Mrs. Julia Sumsion, vice president, who announced the next program to be a Mothers and guest day event, May 9, at the home of Mrs. Layton Jonea. The hostess served a - tray luncheon preceeding the program, pro-gram, assisted by her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Dale Allred. Add a speck of ginger (the size of a pea) to canned beef or chicken soups. Ginger is a marvelous enhancer of meat flavors. Most brands of chili powder are richly, but not hotly flavored. flav-ored. Anyone who loves chili dishes with genuine Mexican pungency can add red pepper in addition to the chili powder; this will provide more heat. |
