Show May 2,1963 THE SPRINGVILLE (UTAH) HERALD Page Three Fish and Game sets opening Saturday, Nov. 2, will mark the opening date of Utah's an-nual pheasant season this year. Opening day of this major upland game bird season was recently set by the Fish arfd Game Commission in the in-terest of the public who wish to plan time ahead for this hunt. Length of the season, bag measures for the pheasant sea-son will not be set until late summer following the regular collection of data covering breeding sex rations and av-erage brood size. Two other important dates for the outdoorsman, June 1, for the beginning of the regu-lar general fishing seaasaon, and Oct. 19, for the first day of the general deer hunt, have already been set for 1963. f - ""Vl A I Hi . New braille telephone switchboard offers efficient public service A braille type telephone switchboard, the second of its '.. kind in Utah, has been in-- n stalled in Provo, announces Aaron D. Doxford, marketing - manager for the Mountain ... States Telephone Company. s The braille board was in--5 stalled at the Valley Telephone Answering Service located at 135 East Center and is op-erated and owned by Adolph Feher who is blind. The braille unit enables Mr. Feher to identify incoming calls for his clients by providing a raised key which, by touch, enables him to identify the calling par-ty's number. This equipment was especi ally "designed and manufac-tured by the Western Electric Company, a branch of the Bell blind people to operate a switchboard as efficiently as a sighted person. Mr. Feher recently moved from St. George and purchased the Answering Service. The services Mr. Feher pro-vides cover the areas of Pro-vo, Orem and Springville mak-ing it possible for business and professional people to have their telephone answered when not at their offices. He is presently providing service to fifty-fiv- e customers. Some of the additional serv-ices offered by the Answering Service are: wake up service, conforms and makes appoint-ments, handles calls for sales-men and advertising agencies, provides space and telephone service for those people who do not have telephone service and wish to make a number of calls and Taxie service calls after hours. He takes orders for department stores in re-sponse to newspaper ads, - as well as provides a means for companies outside this area to represent themselves by listing the Answering Service's num-ber. Mr. Feher originally came from Cleveland, Ohio, attend-ing elementary and secondary schools there and graduating from the Peabody Conserva-tory . of Music at Baltimore, Maryland majoring in piano and organ. He is an accom-plished musician having taught piano in the Cleveland school system. He moved to Utah in 1945 to teach music at St. George. He is a member of the Provo Li-ons Club and has done much work in assisting the blind through educational lectures. Mr. Feher and his wife, Eva, make their home at 406 South 200 East and have four child-ren. U. ..
