Show Mapleton Airman Number 100 to Sign with 9424th A milestone in the history of the 9424th Air Reserve Squadron with headquarters in Provo was reached recently with the assignment of the 100th member. A-lc Robert W. Wentz of Mapleton had the honor of bringing the Squadron strength to 100 when he joined the 9424th. Commemorating the signing of the 100th airman a banquet and show were given Airman Wentz and members of the squadron staff and partners. Airman Wentz served almost al-most 4 years in the Air Force, spending most of his time in Texas, Wyoming and Hill Air Force Base in Utah. He is presently pre-sently enrolled at the BYU as a pre-medical student. His wife is the former Deanna Giles of Springville and they have one son. Airman Wentz is also an Eagle Scout with three palms and is presently active Scoutmaster Scout-master of a troop in Mapleton. Major Donworth V. Gubler of this city is the Commanding Officer of the 9424th and M- Sgt. Carroll S. Claybrook is the Air Force advisor of the unit. |
