Show City Employee Fatally Injured In Road Accident Many relatives and friends paid tributes to the life of Dean Paxman at services Monday Mon-day afternoon in the Fifth-Seventh Fifth-Seventh ward church. The 43-year-old father of seven children lost his life in an accident Thursday evening of last week, when a heavy piece of road equipment he was operating rolled off the highway and crushed him beneath. be-neath. Mr. Paxman had been working work-ing with other city employees on a broken city water line in Hobble Creek canyon, but' at the time of the accident was driving a city-owned front-end loader down the canyon towards to-wards Springville. The accident occurred around 7 p.m. when Mr. Paxman's vehicle left the highway and rolled down a steep 40-foot embankment. The accident was discovered a few minutes after by Grant Whitehead, White-head, another city employee. ' He was born April 11, 1915 in Silver City, Juab County, a son of Thomas and Jean Beardall Paxman. At an early age he moved to Springville, where he had since resided. He attended schools of Springville, j and graduated from Springville high school. : He married Bernice Pierce on August 24, 1934, and she died in 1948. Mr. Paxman was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the LDS church. Surviving are his wife, three sons and four daughters, Dean, Elwood, Michael, Vicki, Carey, and Ardean Paxman, all of Springville, and Judy K. Paxman Pax-man of Henderson, Nev.; his mother, Mrs. Thomas Paxman of Springville; three brothers and three sisters, William Paxman Pax-man of Eureka; Ronald Paxman Pax-man of Spanish Fork; Frank Paxman of Calif.; Mrs. Auleen Dumas of Murray; Mrs. La-Verne La-Verne Bryan of Payson, and Mrs. Emily Campbell of Concord, Con-cord, Calif. |
