Show Birthday Treats Enjoyed by Brookside Pupils Darrell Bartholomew and Richard Orr, Reporters During this week and last week several of the students m Mrs. LeRoy's second grade have had birthdays. Scott Straw, Dennis Robertson, Diane Johnson, Steven Lynn and Saundra Baker all are now eight. Last week two fifth grade girls had birthdays: On Monday, Mon-day, Sherie Miller brought the class a treat because it was her birthday; then on Friday Connie Weight brought each of us a little chocolate rabbit with our names on it. club is going to run off finals for the schools of all Spring-ville Spring-ville and give prizes to the winners. Gregory Dunn had his seventh sev-enth birthday and his mother sent a treat for all the first grade students. Many of the Brookside children chil-dren have had German measles meas-les the past two weeks. Several children have even discovered at school that they were covered cov-ered by measle rash. Our training teachers and participating teachers from B. Y. U. will all be leaving us this week. Miss Muriel Baxter, in Mrs. LeRoy's room, has been the only one staying for all afternoon and coming every day. We will all sorrow at her leaving us. Last Friday evening, Brookside Brook-side school fifth grade was host to Westside fifth grade. The girls at Brookside gave a play based on the story of "Pollyanna," which was made up by Heather Lawrence, and the players included Heather, Barbara Lewis, Masha Miller, Sherrie Miller, Marcia Shepherd, Shep-herd, Marianne Kunze, Howard Eves, and others. The two groups danced and had refreshments refresh-ments together. New class officers for fifth grade now include Connie Weight president, Heather Lawrence and Darrell Bartholomew, Barthol-omew, councilmen, and Marsha Miller, vice president. We are soon to start tournaments tour-naments in marbles, hop skitch and other games. The Kiwanis |
