Show :-i the year the grass is always dry. Also discrepancies were seen in the distances of the pictures, the nearness of the grasses in some pictures and the grass far away in others. In other words the facts that the Forest Service are presenting present-ing to the public are put together to-gether by 22 paid foresters, supervised su-pervised by Merril Nelson. Not until he has finally got the cooperation of Mr. Thornock has he dared or been able to come up with such a drastic recommendation as to take 80 of the cattle from the ranges when the records from non-partisan groups have shown the water flows have been increasing as well as the stock from these ranges, coming com-ing off fatter each year. It is hoped that the citizens of Springville will investigate the issue and realize what elimination eli-mination of our cattle will mean to our economy. How it will increase the problem of fire hazards and the great issue is-sue of recreation. Much of the land in Hobble Creek is privately pri-vately owned thus making cooperation co-operation necessary. One of the fine things of this meeting was the advice given by our Mayor to set down and discuss the problems, and to work something out to benefit everyone. Howard Sumsion, Springville Stockman. But as the forester began his talk, he made it very clear that this could not be the case. The forest service was there just to present the data, not in any way to argue the case. Any question or comment that was aske.d could not help but be argumentive and so was ignored. ignor-ed. It was pointed out that rides had been made with the cattle board and forest service. One interesting incident mentioned by the forester was of the ride when a small shower came up and, "we could see by the slide the creek was muddy telling us that the range was in very poor condition." Mr. Finley, a board member who was on this trip, stated that this small shower amounted to as hard a rain as he had ever seen, lasting last-ing for several hours and making it so muddy when they got back to their cars it took all the horses to pull the cars out.
