Show Long-Separated Brothers Enjoy Two-Week Visit in Springville Thorwald Anderson of Stockholm, Stock-holm, Sweden left this week on the first phase of a return trip to his home after spending spend-ing two weeks with his brother Emil Ostlund of this city, whom he had not seen since Mr. Ostlund went back to his native land in 1935. Although they are full brothers, broth-ers, the two men's last names are different as Mr. Ostlund following the custom in Sweden, Swe-den, was required to take the name of the estate on which he was born being the eldest in the family. He also has a sister who resides in Gotten-berg, Gotten-berg, Sweden. Mr. Anderson, who is a government gov-ernment engineer and operates a patent office came by way of Panama Canal and then up to Portland, Oreg. and here by way of Yellowstone Park. He will stop in Denver and also at Washington D.C., where he will visit Jerol and Norma Rae Ostlund Boyer and children child-ren for a week and sail about August 7 from New York. A collector of antiques, Mr. Anderson has visited most every country in Europe and spent two a.nd a half years in France. It was his first visit however in the United States and he was impressed with the beauty and spaciousness of the country and especially did he enjoy the canyons in Southern Utah which he visited visi-ted with a nephew, Richard Ostlund and wife of Salt Lake City. He accompanied Mrs. Ostlund Ost-lund and other relatives on a sight seeing tour of Salt Lake and was interested in the tabernacle, ta-bernacle, the ZCMI depart-matized depart-matized store and other places. Mr. Ostlund who has been in ill-health for some time enjoyed en-joyed visiting with his brother about their birthplace and their mutual friends and acquaintances. acquaintan-ces. Mr. Anderson took many pictures in Springville and throughout Utah and seemed pleased with the place his elder brother calls home. They parted part-ed reluctantly, Mr. Anderson wishing for improved health for his brother commending him at the same time for the life he has chosen in America. |
