Show I j Annexation Petitions, Other Problems Discussed at Council Meeting Monday City Employees Get Wage Raise; City Hall to Get New Coat of Paint Council regarding Springville being included in the area to be lezoned as a Rural Hospital Hospi-tal area. The Council went on record a.- not being in favor of being .rezoned but to remain in the same area as the Utah Valley Val-ley Hospital. City Employee wages were discussed at the meeting. Some of the men were re-classified and a wage increase was ap proved for city employees. Five cents an hour for hourly men and $10 a month for full time monthly salaried employees. The Recorder was instructed to prepare a letter to the State ' Road Commission requesting drainage from the Jefferson School and from 7th South North, be taken care of as part of the Clover Leaf Road job. Propositions " coming before Springville city councilmen at their meeting Monday evening were varied and numerous dealing with annexation of property for new building areas; rezoning of the city tion of property for new building build-ing areas; rezoning of the city as a rural hospital area; increase in-crease of city employee wages and other items all taken under advisement in the following order: Fred Weight presented a petition pe-tition and plat for annexation of property into the city. Also a subdivision plat. The Council Coun-cil approved the annexation and Attorney Sumsion was asked to prepare an ordinance to annex the property, the subdivision sub-division plat to be checked by Engineer John Neff. Theron Hall also presented a petition for annexation of some of his property into the city and preliminary subdivision subdivi-sion plat. It was approved and an annexation ordinance is to be prepared and checked by F.ngineer Neff. Theo Haws, Luke Day and Leon Vincent made application for the First ward to sponsor the 4th of July celebration in 1959. They were assured they would be given consideration but it was felt that possibly all of the wards and civic clubs should unite to put on the celebration. Blake Gammell, representing the Eleventh and Sixth wards, as general chairman of the 4th of July celebration, expressed appreciation for the support they received. He stated they would not want to act as sponsors for the celebration next year. He felt it should be sponsortd as a community project pro-ject and the funds be used to develop recreation. Floyd Stewart presented a group insurance proposal to be considered by the council. Justice of the Jeace J. F.
