Show pleton Civic Clubs Sponsoring Various Fund-Raisina Proiects Two civic minded clubs of Mapleton, the ,;0nsand the Jaycees this week announce com-etion com-etion of plans to raise funds for their annual Ruel Jensen and Mrs. Eldon Singleton. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Harmon of Price were overnight visitors visit-ors at the home of her mother Mrs. Martha Houtz. Mrs. Harmon Har-mon is the former Lucille Houtz. The Mapleton Lady Lions meeting at Memorial Hall Wednesday Wed-nesday evening under direction of President Ruth Hooper, made plans for their Christmas party setting the date on De cember 18, when they will entertain en-tertain their children at Memorial Memo-rial Hall. There's a new baby at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Robert L. Holley and his wife Wanda. The new baby has a sister Judy and his grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Holley and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Taylor. Mrs. Ira Allan, accompanied by her daughter Barbara of Salt Lake attended wedding of her neice Joyce Giles in He- ber Saturday evening. They were met there by Mr. Allan and son Ned who returned home with them. The Mapleton Jaycees and their partners enjoyed a skating skat-ing party at Park Ro-She Saturday Sat-urday evening, the entertainment entertain-ment being preceded by nupper at Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Oran Hatfield have had the company of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Stubbs and baby daughter of Salt Lake City. will be replaced by Stan Williams. Wil-liams. Several women are taking advantage of the Red Cross Mass in home nursing which is being given by Mrs. Paul Edmonds Ed-monds and Mrs. Ross Reiske. The Jaycees, under direction of Wave Miguel will conduct a house numbering project hoping to sell house numbers which will be seen clearly in the day time or at night. Assisting the chairman are: Roland Hansen, Ross Barney and Don Roundy. Lions Project The Lions expect to make a house to house contact in an effort to sell Christmas lights to Mapleton folks to help finance fi-nance their projects this year. Later in the spring the Lions hope to sponsor a scrap iron drive for funds. Mrs. John Evans of Delta is spending the Thanksgiving week at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Wm. Whiting. The Needle Craft Club met at the home of Alga Mackley in Provo for their last social. The time was spent in quilting and a delicious hot luncheon Dr. Lynn Hilton of the BYXJ Theology department was the speaker at the Fireside Chat in the Mapleton ward Sunday evening eve-ning following the regular sacrament sac-rament meeting. Mrs. Kelly Johnson underwent under-went surgery at the Utah Valley Val-ley hospital last week. Harold Whiting was honored for his services as recent ward clerk in the Mapleton Second ward at a social Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Burt. The Mapleton Second ward Bishopric Bishop-ric and their wives together with the honored guest and his wife all enjoyed dinner at a local cafe early in the evening after which they assembled at the Burt home. Ned Piatt and his wife and their daughter Debbie have been visiting at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Eldon El-don Singleton. Ned has completed com-pleted his filitary service. Camp Mapleton DUP were entertained at the home of Mrs. Martha Whiting Thursday of last week where Ida Whiting gave the history of her grandmother grand-mother Martha Ann Hicks. A vocal solo was given by Orpha Dee Johnson followed by the lesson which was given by Alice Johnson. Her topic was, "Utah Lakes." , Norma Cox played several 1 piano solos. Luncheon was served to sixteen six-teen members by Hattie Jensen, Jen-sen, Ida Whiting and the hostess. hos-tess.
