The de-nomination, size and color of the stamp is to be announced later, according to the Post-master General. The stamp will be issued at Titusville, Pennsylvania, on Oc-tober 27 the birthplace of the American Oil industry, and 100 years to the day the first com-mercial oil well became a real-ity. All in all, as the American Petroleum Institute points out, 1959 is destined to be a stand-out year in oil's history. A spe-cial Centennial Committee, un-l- er Institute sponsorship, has been working on the anniver-sary for some time. It will produce a variety of materials to help oil men and oil com-panies observe the great event. It's hard to believe it now Colonel Edwin L. Drake, who brought in that first well was ridiculed at the time, and his path was filled with frustra-tions and money troubles. Bankers cut off his credit, and he had to hock his life in-surance to keep on drilling. What happened is history. "Nations build up their stock pile of atom bombs, which could lead to the ultimate des-truction of mankind. The atom-ic age we have, what we do with it, is up to man, who must become either master or slave." Gillispie, 111., News A good man is hard to find. Treat, him right and keep him.
