Show mm Hi TD PAGITS POST Pasadena Man Succeeds to Place on Federal Shipping Ship-ping Board. WASHINGTON, May 6. Appointment of Henry M. Robinson of Pasadena, Cah as a member of the shipping board, to succeed Charles R. Page of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, who recently resigned, was announced an-nounced today at the White house. Mr. : Robinson is a native of Ohio and a graduate grad-uate of Cornell university, lie has been connected with a number of mining, engineering en-gineering and manufacturing enterprises ! and has had experience in shipbuilding-Several shipbuilding-Several years ao he was at the head of a large steel company at Youngstown, Ohio. At the outbreak of the war Mr. Robinson Robin-son came to Washington as a "dollar a year" man and served with the council of national defense, and later became assistant as-sistant to Chairman Hurley of the shipping ship-ping board. A I ter the signing of the armistice he assembled the data on shipping ship-ping to be used by the peace conference, and early in January went to pnrope as special shipping commissioner. Since the return of Chairman Hurley from Franco he has had charge of the shipping board's activities abroad, was the American Amer-ican representative at the Spa conferences confer-ences and presided at the interallied conference con-ference on shipping held at Brussels. Pacific coast shipbuilders were asked today by Chairman -Hurley to come to Washington at an early date and discuss with the shipping board the question of replacing cancelled contracts and adjusting: adjust-ing: payments to be made In connection with the construction of shipyards as a war emergency. Mr. Hurley said today that all questions ques-tions involved in the Vacifie coast shipbuilding ship-building program would be discussed at ; the meeting. Jt is understood that the i board expects to award numerous addl-1 addl-1 tional contracts to the Pacific coast yards because of the excellent record made by them during the war.
