Show LADIES OF 1 1 R. INSTALL OFFICERS " Yesterday's Sessions Devoted De-voted to Reports and Plans for Year. Officers were elected and installed yesterday yes-terday at the annual encampment of the G. A. R., Ladies of the G. A. R., and tho Women's Relief corps of the department depart-ment of Utah. J. H. Warfield of Salt Lake was chairman chair-man of the meeting of the comrades of the G. A. R. ; Mrs. Roberta McDonald of the Ladles of the G. A. R.. and Mrs. Louisa "Winegar was Jn the chair at the Women's Relief corps. The morning was devoted to the hearing hear-ing of reports and preliminary work and the afternoon session to the election of officers. Comrades of the G. A. R. installed the following officers: Department commander, com-mander, C. W. A. Schnell; senior vice commander, J. N. Westen, Ogden; junior vice commander, Seymour B. Young; assistant as-sistant adjutant-general, N. D. Corser. G. W. VogoL and George Bridges were elected delegates to the national convention conven-tion at Columbus, Ohio, in August. Officers installed by the Ladies of the G. A. R. were: Mrs. Josephine B. Thomas of Ogden, department president; presi-dent; Mrs. Mary J. Vincent of Provo, senior vice emmander; Mrs. Alice Wallace, Wal-lace, junior vice commander; Mrs. Emma Warfield, chaplain; Mrs. Lucy A. Clark, treasurer; Miss Eva C. Erb of Ogden, j secretary; Margaret M. Fisher, patriotic patri-otic instructor; Mrs. Roberta McDonald, Mrs. Roberta Holdaway, Mrs. Lillie C. Hadley of Ogden and Mrs. Mary West-over West-over were elected members of the ! council. ! The Women's Relief corps elected the following officers: Mrs. Mary A. Brown of Ogden, department president; Mrs. Lucy K. Gurley, senior vice president; Mrs. Marietta Beasley of Provo, junior vice president; Mrs. Ella Mitchell of Ogden. Og-den. secretary; Mrs. Kate M. Frey of Ogden, Og-den, treasurer; Mrs. Mary Sphar, chaplain; chap-lain; Mrs. Ella V. Brooks, inspector; Mrs. Louisa Winegar, counselor; Mrs. Mary R. Fairer, Provo, instituting and installing officer; Mrs. Martha Price, patriotic instructor; Mrs. Edna Planz, press; Mrs. Martha Hines, senior aid; Mrs. Mary Dodge, executive board; Mrs. Mary Maxwell, executive board; Mrs. Nettie Voege!, Ogden, executive board; Mrs. Emma Zimmerman, executive board; Mrs. Sarah Brunyer, Provo, executive ex-ecutive board. Mrs. Martha Price and Mrs. Carrie Wiedner were elected delegates dele-gates ot the national convention, and Mrs. Lizzie- Tuttle and Mrs. Marie Von Elmn, alternates. |
