The directors of the Utah Associated Industries were re-elected yesterday to serve an additional term of three years. They axe: J. E. Clailgher, John M. Hayes, and Lawrence Green of Salt Lake. Ralph E. Bristol of Ogtien. and M. Ecclcs of Logan. The Associated Industries will send out letters of Invitation to industrial and commercial organisations of the state for a meeIng to discuss the provisions 0f Senate BUI Xo. ?904. introduced by Senator Sen-ator Jones, of Washington, to curb profiteering. prof-iteering. A. C. Rees. secretary of the association, said yesterday the membership hope to hold the meeting in the near future. The bill, which is scheduled for discussion, provides: "That the manufacturer of any article produced after the passage of this act. and intended to be put In interstate commerce, com-merce, shall plainly mark upon or attach to such article the cost thereof. "Section 2. That evry retailer of any manufactured article carried in interstate commerce, after the passage of this act. shall put upon or attach to such article before sold to his customers, in plain figures, fig-ures, the cost of such article to him. "Violation of this act shall be a fine of, I not more than $1000, or imprisonment for, not more than one year." |
