Show OHIO SHOOTER E. L Olfl Lorimer Captures Coveted Prize by Defeating Rivals After Tie. CHICAGO, Aug. 15. G. W. Lorimer of Troy, Ohio, won the Grand American trapshooting handicap today after a1 triple tie, in which Lorimer, W. E. Gordon Gor-don of Mobile, Ala., and Ed Hellyer of Alexandria, Pa., each scored 08. It was Lorlmer'a first appearance In the Grand American, in which 798 shooters contested. con-tested. In the shoot-off for the trophy Lorimer i won with 18 out of 20 straight breaks, i Gordon was second with 17 and Hellyer Phird with 16 targets. In addition to appearing in the classic event "of trapshooting for his initial time, Lorimer used a new gun. He missed his eleventh and thirteenth targets. He shot from eighteen yards, while Gordon fired from nineteen yards and Hellyer from twenty-one wards. The total prize money amounted to $7165, of which $537.40 was first, $483.65 , second and $429.90 third prize money. ' Stephen Hoyne of Salina, Kan., former, state champion of Kansas, who was an early favorite to win, was the only con- ; testant to break sixty targets straight. He broke 6-i, then missed three straight. There were 8-16 entries in this event , and 798 shooters started. The lowest .' score to get in the money was 33. High-gun High-gun system was used in money divisions. Charley Reillev of Salt Lake cut In on the $814.80 divided among the 94's. There was a tie for fourth place between Mark Arie of Thomaboro, champion of Illinois, and A. J. Mnore of Decatur, 111., at 97. Moore beat Arie in the shoot off 19 to 18. Sixt een shooters scored 96 and thirty-one thirty-one scored 95. Mrs. T. A. Randall of Lima, Ohio, won the woman's prize with 87. The Columbus trophy for high average was won by Frank M.
